I believe seeking psychotherapy is a courageous step to self-discovery and can be indicative of your readiness to heal as well as face parts of yourself that need tending to.  For those who are ready to meet themselves, I am here to support you as you open up the channels (or floodgates) to the path of healing.  Yes, therapy can hurt or be uncomfortable but along the way you start to find tools, old thoughts and patterns that need to go, self-compassion and love, and a new perspective.  I believe therapy is a way to slow down, check in and go inside ourselves for a contained amount of time, and increase our awareness about our patterns.

I will provide a safe, calm, supportive, judgment-free, and contained space for you to do the work because yes, it is work.  I believe in honoring you and your story and going at the pace that feels right and comfortable for you.  I will meet you where you are in the present moment. Together we will explore your situation, identify factors and experiences that have influenced your life, and work with your already-existing strengths and resiliencies.

My style is informal, relaxed, compassionate, humorous at times, and inviting.  I often incorporate the art of mindfulness, making mind-body connections, and the use of breathwork and meditation.  I am also known to recommend a good book or two and love the use of bibliotherapy in between sessions or in conjunction with therapy.  I am passionate about doing inner child work and working with the wounded child that lives in all of us.  I believe that trauma therapy is a way to re-parent ourselves and heal the younger parts of our being by giving ourselves what we need and identifying what that looks like.

Healing takes time and is a lifetime journey and we can’t (and shouldn’t) do it alone. By working with someone you trust to peel the layers of emotional pain and trauma, you can begin to tap into your own self-healing abilities. You have a safe base to do the work and return to as you begin to practice new and healthier patterns. Therapy is a different way of investing in yourself because although the results are not always immediate and there can be periods of trial and error, it is all the stuff you learn in between and the small victories that begin to matter the most.  Please invest in yourself today.
